Tips and Suggestions

For Corn Dogs: one package of hot dogs and some wooden skewers. Prep and cooking time is the same. Place the skewers at the end of a hot dog, roll in the batter and cook for about 3 minutes.

Pat each cocktail pup dry and roll to dust with flour to help the batter stick.

Begin heating your oil to 350 degrees in a large pot. In a medium bowl, combine all the dry ingredients, then add the wet, and mix together. Add your cocktail pups and coat them with batter. Add about 5 at a time to hot oil and allow to cook about 1 1/2 min each side or until golden brown. Use a ladle to move them around and set on a paper towel to drain.

Stick with decorative toothpicks and serve.
