Slow Cooker Sausage, Sauerkraut and Potatoes

This recipe was inspired by a recent trip to Oktoberfest in Munich. I loved the enormous pretzels, sauerkraut, sausage and mustard in the beer halls. Here is my slow cooker twist of some German favorites.

  • Prep Time: 15 mins
  • Cook Time: 8 hours
  • Cooking Temp: low
  • Servings: 6

Ingredients

  • 3 cup(s) sauerkraut
  • 3 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into thirds
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 1/2 tsp(s) caraway seeds
  • 6 sausages
  • 1/3 cup(s) water

Instructions

1. Layer sauerkraut and potatoes in slow cooker.
2. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and caraway seeds.
3. Top with sausage.
4. Add water.
5. Cook on low for 8 hours.
6. Serve with mustard.
