Crock Pot Pulled Pork

This recipe was adapted from Hungry Girl's Pulled Chicken recipe. Instead of chicken, I use a small pork sirloin tip from Costco--between 1-2 lbs. The recipe leaves a nice flavorful liquid that can be poured onto your sandwich after the pork is removed and shredded. Enjoy!

  • Servings: Depending on size cooked, enough for about 4 sandwiches

Ingredients

  • 1- 2 quart(s) Crock Pot
  • 1-2 lb(s) pork sirloin tip
  • 1- 8 fluid oz can of tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup(s) ketchup
  • 2 tbsp(s) brown sugar, packed
  • 2 1/2 tbsp(s) apple cider vinegar
  • 2 clove(s) garlic, pressed

Tips and Suggestions

Consider using your leftover pork to create a personal pulled pork pizza.

Instructions

Add all ingredients into Crock Pot, stir, then add pork last and turn over a couple of times to coat the meat. Turn on Crock Pot to low and walk away for 6-8 hours.

Remove pork from pot and with two forks, begin to shred apart. Add about half the sauce to your pork and mix together. Prepare your sandwich--Sweet Hawaiian hoagies or hamburger buns are a good choice, and best eaten with a good coleslaw such as Kimo's Cole Slaw. Top sandwich with a bit of the extra sauce left in your Crock Pot.
